The Parent Weekly for March 26th, Jesus is King (part 2)

What we learned today

Big Idea: Jesus is my shepherd, Jesus is King (part 2)

Matthew 21v1–11; Mark 11v1–11; Luke 19v28–38 Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. As Jesus rode into the city, the people celebrated while they shouted, “Hosanna, Hosanna!”

Where we’re headed next time

Big Idea: Jesus is Alive (part 1)

John 19—20. God had a plan to send a Savior. When the time was right, God sent His only Son, Jesus, who came to earth and died on a cross for our sins. After three days, He rose from the grave. Jesus is alive!

Dig into God’s Word

  • Read John 20v1. Remind your child that the “stone” was really a large boulder!

Connect as a family
Your child can understand simple comparisons. Play “full or empty” using a box with a lid and some familiar household objects to help your child begin to understand the empty tomb.

  • Did Jesus stay dead?

  • No, He came back to life!

Blessing

Blessings are often used in the Bible. A blessing can be a prayer of commission, a portion of Scripture, or words to encourage and guide.

Open a Bible and read Revelation 1v8: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”.
