The Parent Weekly

We believe parents are the primary teachers in a child's life. Because of this, we post a Parent Weekly each Sunday which includes big ideas from that week’s teaching, the memory verse, questions for family discussion, and a look at where we’re headed the following week. Our hope is for this to be a helpful tool as you continue raising your kids to love God and love people.

Year 2, Fall: Lesson 3

What we learned today

Big Idea: God made people (part 1)

Genesis 1v26–31; 2v4–25 On the sixth day, God gave the first man the breath of life. God named him Adam. The Lord saw that it was not good for man to be alone, so He created Eve. Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful garden where they walked and talked with God.

Where we're headed next time

Big Idea: God made people (part 2)

Genesis 1v26–31; 2v4–25 On the sixth day, God gave the first man the breath of life. God named him Adam. The Lord saw that it was not good for man to be alone, so He created Eve. Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful garden where they walked and talked with God.

Did you know?

  • God created man and woman in His own image.

  • When Adam and Eve were created, they walked and talked with God in perfect relationship.

Connect as a family

Your child may enjoy gazing at his own reflection. As he does so, remind him that God made him and all of the people in the world.

  • What would you say to God if you could walk with and talk to Him like Adam and Eve did?

Blessing

Blessings are often used in the Bible. A blessing can be a prayer of commission, a portion of Scripture, or words to encourage and guide.

A blessing to pray over your child: (Insert child’s name), may you always remember that you are special, made by God too.
